Scientific Calculator Online — Free Sci Cal
CalcES is MathDa's free online scientific calculator, with keypads modeled on Casio's fx-991ES PLUS, fx-991EX and fx-991CW. It runs in a browser on phone, tablet and computer with no installation. It includes a graphing calculator and Tales Math Solver for supported step-by-step solutions.
Choose the keypad you know
Looking for a sci cal or scical online with familiar calculator keys? Open “Choose your calculator”, or go to Settings → Calculator model. Models sold in the Philippines come first in the searchable list. Select your handheld by name.
- An ES PLUS layout with SHIFT and ALPHA provides familiar keys for fx-991ES PLUS and fx-570ES PLUS Casio scientific calculator users.
- A simpler ES PLUS layout covers the fx-82ES PLUS, fx-85ES PLUS, fx-350ES PLUS and fx-95ES PLUS.
- ClassWiz calculator layouts cover the fx-991EX and the CW models fx-991CW, fx-570CW, fx-82CW and fx-350CW.
SHIFT/ALPHA layers and key positions follow your ES PLUS or EX handheld, helping you practice common sequences during board review at home before repeating them on it.
CalcES is not affiliated with, endorsed or certified by Casio. Casio, ClassWiz and model names are trademarks of their respective owners; firmware, menus and limits differ from the handhelds.
Fractions and trigonometry
CalcES is a scientific calculator with fraction templates and textbook-style input, so fractions, roots and powers look the way they do in your book. Switch exact and decimal results with S⇔D on ES PLUS/EX layouts or FORMAT on CW layouts to compare answers. You can also work with mixed numbers, repeating decimals, percentages and engineering notation.
Match your trigonometry exercise by selecting degrees, radians or gradians, or convert degrees-minutes-seconds. Logarithms include log, ln and any base, alongside inverse trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. The ratio calculator finds a missing term of a proportion. Verify tells you whether an equality or inequality is true or false.
SHIFT SOLVE, polynomial roots and simultaneous equations
SHIFT SOLVE in CalcES finds an equation's unknown so you can check an algebra answer. On the fx-991ES PLUS-style or fx-991EX-style keypad, press SHIFT then CALC. On the fx-991CW-style keypad, use TOOLS → SOLVE. An expression without "=" is treated as equal to zero.
Systems of linear equations take 2–6 unknowns entered as coefficients. Polynomial equations of degrees 2–5 return real and complex roots and the quadratic vertex. Polynomial inequalities of degrees 2–5 show solution sets for >, ≥, < or ≤. Read when to use SHIFT SOLVE or equation mode before choosing a method. The quadratic equation Guide explains coefficient entry.
Reuse formulas and stored values
CALC in CalcES substitutes values in a formula for repeated engineering calculations. STO and RCL store and recall ten letter variables, alongside Ans and PreAns. M+/M− update memory, and the Variables panel lets you view and edit values.
Calculation history keeps the latest 100 calculations for editing and reuse. Sign in to sync calculation history across devices.
Derivatives at a point, definite integrals and limits
CalcES evaluates a derivative at a point, definite integrals, and one-sided or two-sided limits to check college calculus answers. It also evaluates Σ sums and Π products of a sequence.
Matrices, vectors and complex numbers
CalcES accepts matrices up to 7×7, so engineering students can check an inverse or determinant beyond 3×3. Templates also support transpose, rank, row reduction and eigenvalues.
For 2-D and 3-D vectors, use VctA–VctD and VctAns to check directions and magnitudes through dot product, cross product, unit vector and angle calculations. Complex numbers support rectangular and polar form arithmetic, modulus, argument and complex conjugate.
Statistics and probability
For senior-high statistics and probability, CalcES summarizes one- and two-variable data from up to 999 rows, with a frequency column for repeats. Mean, variance, standard deviation and quartiles also help you check a college statistics, economics or business problem set. Seven regressions cover linear, quadratic, logarithmic, e-exponential, ab-exponential, power and inverse fits.
The normal distribution calculator finds probabilities, cumulative probability and inverse normal values. Use the binomial probability calculator or Poisson distribution to check probabilities for discrete counts. Teachers can demonstrate probability with Math Box's coin toss and dice roll simulations and relative frequency. Factorials, permutations and combinations count outcomes.
Tables and spreadsheets
A table of values in CalcES compares outputs from f(x) and, optionally, g(x) across an interval. Set the start, end and step, then edit x rows to test specific values.
The spreadsheet has A–Z columns and 999 rows, cell formulas with absolute and relative references, fill, copy and paste. Sum, Mean, Min and Max summarize ranges.
Chemistry and molar mass
The periodic table in CalcES calculates molar mass from a chemical formula for chemistry lab reports. Search 118 elements for atomic weights. Use 47 scientific constants and 40 unit conversions in 20 reversible pairs to check physics calculations and units.
Base conversion and integers
Base-N in CalcES converts binary to decimal, hexadecimal and octal and shows all four bases together, so you can check programming exercises. It supports bitwise operations on signed 32-bit integers.
For integer work, use GCF (GCD) and LCM, prime factorization, division with remainder and random numbers.
What the browser adds to your sci cal
The online scientific calculator in CalcES combines familiar Casio-style keys with live result preview, photo input, graphs from results and supported solution steps. Teachers can put the sci calculator on a classroom projector, and parents can check a child's fractions or equations on a phone. Add it to your phone's home screen as a web app.
Scan a math problem with your phone camera, upload or paste an image, or use handwriting input to create editable math. Check the recognized expression, especially signs and fractions, before calculating. Open Tales Math Solver for supported steps from an expression or result. After a few free trial solves, sign-in is required.
Open the Graph tab on a computer or the full-screen graph on a phone to graph functions and inequality regions. The Graph button sends functions, tables or calculus results to the graph with a shared angle unit.
