CalcES is a free online scientific calculator by MathDa, with keypads modelled on Casio ES PLUS, ClassWiz EX and ClassWiz CW handhelds. It runs in phone, tablet and computer browsers, with nothing to install and no account needed to calculate.

CalcES offers online practice on keypads modelled on Casio fx-991ES PLUS, fx-82ES PLUS, fx-991EX, fx-570EX and fx-991CW scientific calculators. ClassWiz includes the EX generation (fx-991EX and fx-570EX) and the CW generation (fx-991CW and fx-570CW). ES PLUS and EX have SHIFT and ALPHA keys, while CW uses SHIFT and menus for letters and modes. Practise maths at home when preparing for GCSE, A-level, O-level or Matric.

On your first visit, “Choose your calculator” lists your country's models first. If you use a Casio 991 or 570, select its full model name to match the generation. To change the keypad later, open Settings → Calculator model and tap Change. The Advanced keypad, on by default, gives the calculator scientific functions on otherwise blank keys. From paper to steps or a graph
CalcES accepts camera photos, uploaded or pasted images, and handwriting input. Check the editable expression before calculating.
The built-in Tales Math Solver shows step-by-step solutions for supported problems in algebra, equations, calculus, trigonometry, probability, combinatorics and matrices, including many word problems. Open it from an expression or result. It offers a few free trial solves, then asks you to sign in.
The graphing calculator plots functions, circles and shaded inequalities online. The Graph button under a result sends a function, table or calculus result to the Graph tab beside the keypad, or to a full-screen graph on phones. What steps and graphs add to an answer explains this workflow.
Compared with a handheld, CalcES adds more screen space on a computer and a result that appears while you type. You can type with the computer keyboard, use keyboard shortcuts with undo and redo, revisit the latest 100 calculations and graph a result. Photo and handwriting input help you enter problems, while Tales Math Solver shows steps for supported ones. Teachers can show the keypad on a classroom screen.
Exact fractions and surds for homework
CalcES uses textbook-style (natural display) input for fractions, mixed numbers, roots and powers. Switch exact values (fractions, surds or π) to decimals with S⇔D on the ES PLUS and EX keypads, or FORMAT on the CW keypad. Choose engineering notation or Fix/Sci/Norm formats, with Sci for standard form (scientific notation).
Use trigonometric functions (sin, cos and tan), inverse trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, and logarithms (log, ln or any base). Choose degrees, radians or gradians as your angle units, and convert between decimal degrees and degrees, minutes and seconds (DMS).
Equations and checks
CalcES solves simultaneous linear equations with 2–6 unknowns from coefficients. See how to solve 3 equations with 3 unknowns in the Guide.
Enter coefficients to solve polynomial equations of degree 2–5 for real or complex roots, or to find a quadratic's vertex. The quadratic equation Guide shows how to enter one. The calculator also solves polynomial inequalities of degree 2–5 and shows the solution set.
With the layouts modelled on fx-991ES PLUS and fx-991EX, SHIFT SOLVE finds the unknown in an equation. On the CW keypad, use TOOLS → Solve. Without an equals sign, the expression is treated as equal to zero. Ratio finds the missing term in A:B = C:X. Verify checks whether an equality or inequality is true or false.
Formulas, variables and function tables
In CalcES, use CALC to re-evaluate a formula with new values. Store and recall values with STO/RCL, edit them in the Variables panel and reuse Ans and PreAns.
Build a table of values for f(x) and optional g(x) from Start, End and Step. You can edit x rows, as the table of values Guide explains.
Calculus and engineering maths
As an engineering calculator, CalcES evaluates a derivative at a point, a definite integral, one-sided or two-sided limits, summation and sequence products.
Enter matrices in templates up to 7×7 to find determinants, inverses, transposes, rank and eigenvalues, or perform row reduction. Use complex numbers in rectangular and polar form, with modulus, argument and conjugate. Use 2-D and 3-D vectors for dot and cross products, magnitude, a unit vector or the angle between vectors.
Statistics and probability
Statistics in CalcES handles up to 999 rows of one- and two-variable data, with an optional frequency column. Find mean, variance, standard deviation and quartiles, or fit one of seven regression models, including linear, quadratic and logarithmic.
The Distribution mode calculates binomial, normal and Poisson probabilities, cumulative probability and inverse normal. Math Box simulates dice rolls and coin tosses and shows how often each outcome comes up.
Science, computing and spreadsheets
The periodic table in CalcES has 118 elements with atomic weights and calculates molar mass from chemical formulas.
Base-N shows signed 32-bit integers in decimal, binary, hexadecimal and octal together so you can compare the same value across bases. It supports bitwise AND, OR and XOR.
The Spreadsheet mode has columns A–Z and 999 rows for cell formulas with relative and absolute references. Fill, copy and paste formulas to reuse calculations. Sum, Mean, Min and Max find the total, average, smallest and largest values in a range.

Does CalcES work like my fx-991ES PLUS, fx-991EX or fx-991CW?
Yes. In CalcES, choose your model, such as fx-991ES PLUS, in “Choose your calculator” for a matching keypad layout. It does not run handheld firmware, so it is not an emulator and some menus and limits differ. It is not affiliated with Casio.
Can I use the layout of my ClassWiz calculator online?
Yes. In CalcES, open Settings → Calculator model and tap Change, then select your model, such as fx-991EX or fx-991CW. The calculator also offers online practice with ClassWiz layouts modelled on fx-570EX and Malaysia's fx-570MY CW.
Which keypad should I choose?
Choose the model printed on your handheld in CalcES's “Choose your calculator” menu, which lists your country's models first. UK/Ireland layouts include fx-83GT CW, fx-83GT CW+, fx-85GT CW+ and fx-991CW+ UK. Other layouts are modelled on fx-8200 AU, fx-8200 AU II, fx-82ZA PLUS II, fx-991ZA PLUS II, fx-9910NG PLUS, fx-570MY CW and fx-97SG CW.
