Online Scientific Calculator for fx-991EX and fx-115ES PLUS
CalcES is MathDa's free online scientific calculator simulator. It runs in a browser on your phone, tablet and computer, with layouts modeled on Casio ES PLUS, ClassWiz EX and ClassWiz CW handhelds. No download or account is needed. You can add it to your phone's Home Screen.
Choose the keys you know
On your first visit to CalcES, the Choose your calculator screen lists models sold in your country first. Switch later under Settings › Calculator model.
- For fractions, pre-algebra, Algebra I and basic statistics, choose keys modeled on the fx-300ES PLUS or fx-300ES PLUS B. The fraction key, SHIFT/ALPHA layers and STO/RCL carry over.
- One ES PLUS layout lets you practice online with calculator keys modeled on the fx-115ES PLUS, fx-115ES PLUS B, fx-991ES PLUS and Canada's fx-991ES PLUS C. Its SOLVE and CALC keys suit Algebra II and engineering coursework.
- The EX-style layout modeled on the fx-991EX keeps familiar SOLVE and CALC keys.
- For newer ClassWiz CW handhelds, choose the layout modeled on the fx-991CW and fx-9910CW, with HOME, CATALOG, TOOLS and FORMAT keys.
The advanced keypad is on by default and adds functions to keys the handheld leaves blank. Turn it off to see only the printed keys. Teachers can use the in-app Guide's step-by-step key sequences to demonstrate common tasks.

Fractions, trig and homework checks
With CalcES, middle school students and parents can check fractions, mixed numbers, percentages, repeating decimals, roots and powers in textbook-style input. Switch between exact and decimal results with S⇔D. Find the greatest common factor (GCD on the keypad), least common multiple and prime factorization.
Precalculus students can evaluate trigonometric functions (sine, cosine and tangent and their inverses), switch between degrees and radians to match the assignment, and calculate logarithms with log and ln.
Work through algebra
The system of equations calculator in CalcES uses your coefficients to solve linear systems with 2–6 unknowns. Learn to solve a system of three equations.
SOLVE finds x in an equation. Without an equals sign, SOLVE treats the expression as equal to zero and solves for x. Find real and complex roots of polynomial equations of degree 2–5, including quadratic and cubic equations. Quadratic results also show the vertex. Solve polynomial inequalities of degree 2–5 to see which values satisfy them.
Ratio mode finds a missing value in a proportion. Verify mode checks whether an equality or inequality is true or false.
Calculus, matrices and vectors for college STEM
As an engineering calculator, CalcES offers numerical calculus for college physics and engineering coursework. In AP Calculus, evaluate a derivative at a point, definite integrals and one-sided or two-sided limits. Use Σ summation and Π product templates for series and repeated multiplication.
CalcES also works as a matrix calculator. Enter matrices up to 7×7 in a template to find determinants, inverses, transposes, rank and eigenvalues or perform row reduction. Ontario's Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors students can calculate dot and cross products, magnitudes, unit vectors and angles with 2-D or 3-D vectors. For AC circuits, use complex numbers in rectangular and polar form to find the modulus, argument and conjugate.
Explore statistics and probability
AP Statistics students can use CalcES's statistics mode as a standard deviation calculator. Analyze one- and two-variable data with a frequency column and up to 999 rows to find the mean, variance and quartiles. Seven regression models include linear regression for a line of best fit and quadratic regression.
Use permutations and combinations to count possible outcomes. The probability distribution tools calculate binomial, normal and Poisson probabilities, cumulative probability and inverse normal. Math Box simulates dice rolls and coin tosses to explore relative frequency.
Chemistry and lab work
For high school and AP Chemistry, CalcES doubles as a science calculator. Its molar mass calculator takes a chemical formula, and the periodic table lets you search 118 elements and check atomic weights. Use 47 scientific constants, 40 unit conversions and scientific or engineering notation for lab work.
Binary and hex for computer science
CalcES's Base-N mode converts signed 32-bit integers between binary, decimal, hexadecimal and octal for computer science work. All four bases appear at once. Explore bitwise logic with AND, OR and XOR.
Reuse your work
The function table in CalcES lists values of f(x) and an optional g(x) for your chosen start, end and step. Use CALC to substitute values into economics or lab formulas. Store and recall ten letter variables, plus Ans and PreAns, in the editable Variables panel.
The spreadsheet has columns A–Z and 999 rows for cell formulas with relative and absolute references. Use Sum, Mean, Min and Max over ranges. Fill formulas or copy and paste cells.
Calculation history keeps your last 100 calculations to reopen, edit and rerun. Sign in to sync calculation history across devices.

On top of familiar handheld-style keys, CalcES adds a larger screen, results as you type, editable history, photo and handwriting input, steps for supported problems, and graphs of results.

How do I enter fractions on a scientific calculator with an abc button?
In CalcES, the ES PLUS-style fraction key opens a numerator-over-denominator template, like an older calculator's a b/c key. Mixed numbers have their own template. If you meant letters, use ALPHA on ES PLUS or EX layouts.
Is there a scientific calculator with an ALPHA button?
Yes. On CalcES's ES PLUS and EX layouts, ALPHA types stored letter variables such as A–D, F, M, x and y. STO and RCL store and recall values. CW-style layouts use the VARIABLE key to store values.
