Number Format

CalcES contains various format options for number:

• Decimal separator (dot or comma)
• Thousand separator
• Thousandth separator
• Exponential separator

The thousand separator

Available options:

• None: 123123123
• Comma: 123,123,123
• Space: 123 123 123
• Apostrophe: 123′123′123

How to change thousand separator?

1. Open the settings screen by clicking the gear icon

   

2. Select the Format tab, and then select the Thousand separator item

   

3. Choose your thousand separator option, example:

   

4. Test the settings:

   

Thousandth separator (digits after decimal place)

Available options:

• None: 999.123123123
• Comma: 999.123,123,123
• Space: 999.123 123 123
• Apostrophe: 999.123′123′123

How to change thousandth separator?

1. Open the settings screen by clicking the gear icon

   

2. Select the Format tab, and then select the Thousandth separator item

   

3. Choose your thousandth separator option, example:

   

4. Test the settings:

   

Exponential separator

There are 2 options for exponential separator:

• a×10b
• aEb

Where a is the mantissa part and b is exponent part.

Steps to change exponential separator:

1. Open the settings screen by clicking the gear icon

   

2. Select the Format tab, scroll to the Scientific Notation item, select your option:

   

3. Back to the calculator, press ENG button to open the decimal format dialog:

   

4. Change the decimal format to Science mode

   

5. Result

   For Scientific Notation = a×10b

   

   For Scientific Notation = aEb
