symbol::msg identifies a message. MessageName is the head of message IDs of the form symbol::tag.

Examples

The second parameter ‘tag’ is interpreted as a string.

>> FullForm(a::b)
MessageName(a, b)

>> FullForm(a::"b")
MessageName(a, "b")
